Southbourne Lions Club Peace Poster Competition
The children in Oak, Willow & Birch Classes at Chidham Primary School all participated in the Southbourne Lions Club Peace Poster Competition (entries had to be in by the end of last term.) On Wednesday Vicki King and Pat Hancock from the Lions Club and Lesley Wood a local artist who judged the entries came to present certificates to those who took part and hand out prizes to the winning children:
From Oak Class 1st prize: Olivia Elliot
2nd prize: Beatrice Koronka
3rd prize: Katie Haines
From Willow Class 1st prize: Aimee Hollingsworth
2nd prize: Joe Borges
3rd prize Chase Bruton
From Birch Class: 1st prize: Evie Clark
2nd prize: Liberty Aldridge
3rd prize: Bryn Stevenson
The following two children were awarded “Highly Commended” certificates: Lilly-Mae Purssey in Birch Class and Ethan Elkins in Oak Class
(The prize winners received either a £30, £20 or £10 Hobbycraft voucher)
Lesley Wood remarked on the standard of the entries and how she wished all that entered could win a prize. The winning first place entries are now being put forward to the next round ie the South East District Competition.
In addition to the children receiving prizes, the local Lions Club gave a donation of £100 to the school towards art materials as a “Thank you” for taking part, which was very lovely of them and totally unexpected.
